Basics

• Network transit hub to connect VPCs to on premise networks
• This is a highly scalable, high availability single network object
• Transit Gateway connects to other network objects through Attachments
• The valid attachments are VPC, Site-To-Site VPN & DirectConnect Gateway
• Transit gateways are transitive routing capable.
• Transit gateways act as termination point on the AWS side of a hybrid network
• Transit gateways can be shared between different AWS accounts using RAM
• Transit gateways can be peered with other Transit Gateways in different regions or accounts
